Description of the Dvīpa, Varṣas, and Mount Meru
षष्टिं वर्षमहस्राणि षष्टिमेव शतानि च । आदित्यतापतप्तास्ते विशन्ति शशिमण्डलम्,वे छाछठ हजार वर्षोतक ही सूर्यदेवके तापमें तपकर अन्तमें चन्द्रमण्डलमें प्रवेश कर जाते हैं
ṣaṣṭiṁ varṣa-sahasrāṇi ṣaṣṭim eva śatāni ca | āditya-tāpa-taptās te viśanti śaśi-maṇḍalam ||
Sañjaya berkata: “Setelah hangus oleh bahang Surya selama enam puluh ribu tahun dan enam ratus tahun lagi (66,000 tahun), akhirnya mereka memasuki cakera Bulan.”
