तेषां मध्ये स्थितो राजन पुत्रो दुर्योधनस्तव । अब्रवीत् तावकान् सर्वान् युद्धाध्वमिति दंशिता:,संजयने कहा--राजन्! आपके पुत्रोंने पाण्डवोंके साथ जिस प्रकार युद्ध किया, वह बताता हूँ, सुनिये। जब सब सेनाओंकी व्यूह-रचना हो गयी, तब समस्त सेना एक होकर एक अपार महासागरके समान प्रतीत होने लगी। उसमें सब ओर रथ आदिमें आबद्ध सुन्दर ध्वजा फहराती दिखायी देती थी। उसे देखकर सैनिकोंके बीचमें खड़ा हुआ आपका पुत्र दुर्योधन आपके सभी योद्धाओंसे इस प्रकार बोला--“कवचधारी वीरो! युद्ध आरम्भ करो”
teṣāṁ madhye sthito rājan putro duryodhanas tava | abravīt tāvakān sarvān yuddhadhvam iti daṁśitāḥ ||
Sanjaya berkata: Wahai Raja, puteramu Duryodhana, berdiri di tengah-tengah mereka, berkata kepada semua pahlawan pihakmu: “Wahai wira berzirah, mara—mulakan pertempuran!”
