विरथं रथिनां श्रेष्ठ भीष्मं दृष्टवा रथोत्तमा:

virathaṁ rathināṁ śreṣṭha bhīṣmaṁ dṛṣṭvā rathottamāḥ

Melihat Bhīṣma—yang terunggul antara para pahlawan kereta—berdiri tanpa keretanya, para pejuang kereta terbaik pun tersentak cemas dan bertindak dengan segera.
