Nirmaryāda-saṃgrāma-varṇana — The Unbounded Clash and Bhīṣma’s Rallying Presence
daivī sampad vimokṣāya nibandhāyāsurī matā | mā śucaḥ sampadaṁ daivīm abhijāto 'si pāṇḍava ||
Sampad daivī (anugerah ketuhanan) dianggap membawa kepada pembebasan, sedangkan sampad asurī dianggap menjadi sebab belenggu. Maka janganlah berdukacita, wahai Arjuna putera Pāṇḍu; engkau dilahirkan dengan sampad daivī.

Human dispositions fall into two broad moral-spiritual orientations: the divine set of qualities leads toward liberation, while the demonic set leads to bondage. Arjuna is urged to abandon grief because his nature is aligned with the divine orientation, implying he should act from dharma and clarity rather than despair.
In the midst of the Kurukṣetra crisis, Arjuna is being reassured and instructed. The speaker contrasts two kinds of inner endowments—divine and demonic—and consoles Arjuna that he belongs to the divine type, so he should not succumb to sorrow or paralysis.
