अमोघा न्यपतन् बाणा: पितुस्ते मनुजेश्वर । नासज्जन्त शरीरेषु भीष्मचापच्युता: शरा:,मनुजेश्वर! आपके ताऊके द्वारा चलाये हुए बाण कभी खाली नहीं जाते थे। भीष्मके धनुषसे छूटे हुए सायक मनुष्योंके शरीरोंमें नहीं अटकते थे
amoghā nyapatan bāṇāḥ pitus te manujeśvara | nāsajjanta śarīreṣu bhīṣma-cāpa-cyutāḥ śarāḥ ||
Sañjaya berkata: Wahai tuan manusia, anak panah ayahanda tuanku tidak pernah jatuh sia-sia. Batang-batang panah yang dilepaskan dari busur Bhīṣma tidak tersangkut pada tubuh manusia—demikian pantas dan dahsyatnya, menembusi terus tanpa dapat ditahan.
