Completion of the Aśvamedha

उक्त न प्रतिजग्राह मानान्मोहवशं गत: । तत्त्वदर्श ऋषियोंके कहे हुए इस वचनको इन्द्रने अभिमानवश नहीं स्वीकार किया। वे मोहके वशीभूत हो गये थे

uktaṃ na pratijagrāha mānān mohavaśaṃ gataḥ |

Vaiśaṃpāyana berkata: Dikuasai oleh kekeliruan dan digerakkan oleh keangkuhan, Indra tidak menerima kata-kata para resi yang melihat kebenaran. Dalam belenggu moha, kebanggaan menutup pertimbangan, hingga nasihat bijak pun ditolak.
