तां तु दृष्टवा निपतितां हतपुत्रपरिच्छदाम् । चुक्रोश कुन्ती दुःखार्ता सर्वाश्व भरतस्त्रिय:
tāṃ tu dṛṣṭvā nipatitāṃ hataputraparicchadām | cukrośa kuntī duḥkhārtā sarvāś ca bharatastriyaḥ ||
Melihat dia rebah ke bumi—kehilangan “isi rumah” yang berupa puteranya—Kuntī, yang dirundung dukacita, menjerit; dan semua wanita keturunan Bharata pun turut pecah menangis dan meratap.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the moral and human cost of violence: the destruction of heirs and family continuity brings profound suffering, especially to women, reminding readers that dharma is not only victory and ritual duty but also compassion and accountability for the consequences of conflict.
Vaiśaṃpāyana narrates that Kuntī sees Uttarā lying fallen on the ground, devastated by the loss of her son/lineage-support, and Kuntī along with all the Bharata women cry out in intense mourning.
