Withdrawal of the Brahmāstra; Naming of Parīkṣit; Description of Civic Festivities
प्रतिजज्ञे च दाशा्हस्तस्य जीवितमच्युत: । अब्रवीच्च विशुद्धात्मा सर्व विश्रावयन् जगत्
pratijajñe ca dāśārhas tasya jīvitam acyutaḥ | abravīc ca viśuddhātmā sarvaṁ viśrāvayan jagat ||
Vaiśampāyana berkata: Kemudian Acyuta, Kṛṣṇa dari keturunan Dāśārha, yang berhati suci, bersumpah akan mengembalikan nyawa anak itu. Dan agar kata-katanya didengar oleh seluruh dunia, Baginda berkata demikian—
वैशम्पायन उवाच
A righteous vow made for the protection of life should be upheld openly and without wavering; moral authority is strengthened when compassion and responsibility are declared and acted upon in public.
Kṛṣṇa, identified as Acyuta and a Dāśārha, promises to restore the life of a child and then proclaims his intention aloud so that all present—and symbolically the whole world—may hear what he is about to do.
