Kurukṣetra Campaign in Summary
पुण्यावसथवान् वीर पुण्यकृद्धिर्निषेवित: । विहारो वृष्णिवीराणां महे रैवतकस्य ह
puṇyāvasathavān vīra puṇyakṛddhir niṣevitaḥ | vihāro vṛṣṇivīrāṇāṃ mahe raivatakasya ha ||
Vaiśampāyana berkata: “Wahai wira, itu ialah tempat kediaman suci, dihormati dan sering diziarahi oleh mereka yang menunaikan amal kebajikan. Itulah taman riang dan tempat persinggahan yang masyhur bagi para pahlawan Vṛṣṇi—benar, milik Raivataka yang agung.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores the ethical idea that places become truly ‘holy’ through sustained virtuous conduct: a sanctified abode is one that is frequented by puṇyakṛt—people devoted to meritorious deeds—linking moral action with sacredness and communal memory.
Vaiśampāyana describes a renowned locale associated with the Vṛṣṇi warriors, identifying it as a celebrated recreation-ground connected with great Raivataka, and characterizing it as a sanctified, well-regarded place visited by the virtuous.
