उत्तङ्कोपाख्यानम् — Maṇi-Kuṇḍala Retrieval and Entry into Nāgaloka
Chapter 57
निक्षिप्तमेतद् भुवि पन्नगास्तु रत्नं समासाद्य परामृशेयु: । यक्षास्तथोच्छिष्ट धृतं सुराश्च निद्रावशाद् वा परिधर्षयेयु:,“यदि इन कुण्डलोंको पृथ्वीपर रख दिया जाय तो नाग लोग इसे हड़प लेंगे। अपवित्र अवस्थामें इन्हें धारण करनेपर यक्ष उड़ा ले जायँगे और यदि इन्हें पहनकर नींद लेने लग जाय तो देवतालोग बलात् छीन ले जायँगे
nikṣiptam etad bhuvi pannagās tu ratnaṃ samāsādya parāmṛśeyuḥ | yakṣās tathocchiṣṭa-dhṛtaṃ surāś ca nidrāvaśād vā paridharṣayeyuḥ ||
Vaiśaṃpāyana berkata: “Jika subang-subang ini diletakkan di atas bumi, para nāga, setelah menemui permata itu, akan menyambarnya. Jika dipakai dalam keadaan tidak suci, Yakṣa akan melarikannya; dan jika seseorang tertidur ketika masih memakainya, bahkan para dewa pun boleh merampasnya dengan paksa.”
