धर्मलक्षणसंयुक्तमुक्त वो विधिवन्मया । गुणानां ग्रहणं सम्यग् वक्ष्माम्यहमत: परम्,महर्षियो! यह मैंने तुमलोगोंसे लक्षणोंसहित धर्मका विधिवत् वर्णन किया। अब यह बतला रहा हूँ कि किस गुणको किस इन्द्रियसे ठीक-ठीक ग्रहण किया जाता है
dharmalakṣaṇasaṃyuktam uktaṃ vo vidhivan mayā | guṇānāṃ grahaṇaṃ samyag vakṣmāmy aham ataḥ param, maharṣayaḥ ||
Vāyu berkata: “Wahai para resi agung! Aku telah menerangkan dharma beserta tanda-tanda penentunya kepada kamu menurut kaedah yang wajar. Sekarang, aku akan menyatakan dengan jelas bagaimana setiap sifat (guṇa) ditangkap dengan tepat oleh fakulti indera yang sepadan.”
वायुदेव उवाच
After defining dharma with its identifying marks, the speaker turns to epistemic clarity: how qualities (guṇas) are properly known through the appropriate sense-faculties, emphasizing correct method (vidhivat) and accurate apprehension (samyak-grahaṇa).
Vāyudeva addresses a group of great seers, concluding one section of instruction on dharma and announcing the next topic—an explanation of how different qualities are perceived—continuing a structured, teacher-to-ṛṣi discourse.
