Vāc–Manas Saṃvāda: Prāṇa-Apāna and the Primacy Debate (वाक्–मनस् संवादः)
यस्मादपि समाधिस्ते स्वयमभ्येस्त शो भने । तस्मादुच्छवासमासाद्य प्रवक्ष्यामि सरस्वति,क्योंकि शोभामयी सरस्वति! तुमने स्वयं ही पास आकर समाधान अर्थात् अपने पक्षकी पुष्टि की है। इससे मैं उच्छवास लेकर कुछ कहूँगा
yasmād api samādhis te svayam abhyetya śobhane | tasmād ucchvāsam āsādya pravakṣyāmi sarasvati ||
Maka, wahai Sarasvatī yang bersinar mulia, kerana engkau sendiri telah tampil ke hadapan dan memberikan ketetapan—mengukuhkan perkara yang dipersoalkan—maka dengan hati yang teguh dan menarik nafas lega, aku akan berkata sekarang.
ब्राह्मण उवाच
Speech should proceed from clarity and confirmed understanding: when the point is settled (samādhi) and one gains inner steadiness (ucchvāsa), one may speak with confidence and responsibility.
A brāhmaṇa addresses Sarasvatī, treating her as the power of eloquence and confirmation in discourse. He says that because she has approached and provided a decisive resolution supporting his position, he now feels relief and is ready to continue his explanation.
