धृतराष्ट्रदर्शनाय पाण्डवानां प्रयाणम् | The Pāṇḍavas Prepare to Visit Dhṛtarāṣṭra
ततो मां तेजसा5<विश्य मोहयित्वा च भानुमान् । उवाच भविता पुत्रस्तवेत्यभ्यगमद् दिवम्,तब मैं उन निरपराध ब्राह्मणको शापसे बचाती हुई बोली--'देव! मुझे आपके समान पुत्र प्राप्त हो।। इतना कहते ही सूर्यदेव मुझे मोहित करके अपने तेजके द्वारा मेरे शरीरमें प्रविष्ट हो गये। तत्पश्चात् बोले--'तुम्हें एक तेजस्वी पुत्र प्राप्त होगा।! ऐसा कहकर वे आकाशमें चले गये
tato māṁ tejasāviśya mohayitvā ca bhānumān | uvāca bhavitā putras tavety abhyagamad divam ||
Kemudian Dewa Surya, memasuki diriku dengan sinar kemuliaannya dan membuatku terpesona, lalu bersabda, “Seorang putera akan lahir bagimu.” Setelah berkata demikian, baginda pun berangkat ke kayangan.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights how extraordinary power can override ordinary human agency, yet the narrative frames the outcome within a moral universe where consequences (a destined birth and its responsibilities) must be borne. It invites reflection on dharma: how one responds ethically to events that are not fully chosen.
Vaiśaṃpāyana narrates that the Sun-god (Bhānumān) enters the woman through his radiance, causing bewilderment, and then proclaims that she will have a son. After giving this assurance, he departs to the heavens.
