Puṣkara-Śapatha Itihāsa (Agastya–Indra Dispute at the Tīrthas) | पुष्कर-शपथ-आख्यानम्

यातुधान्युवाच नामनैरुक्तमेतत्‌ ते दुःखव्याभाषिताक्षरम्‌ | नैतद्‌ धारयितुं शक्‍्यं गच्छावतर पद्मिनीम्‌,यातुधानी बोली--तुम्हारे नामकी व्याख्याका भी उच्चारण करना मेरे लिये कठिन है। अतः इसको याद रखना असम्भव है। जाओ, तुम भी बावड़ीमें उतरो

yātudhānī uvāca nāma-nairuktam etat te duḥkha-vyābhāṣitākṣaram | na etad dhārayituṁ śakyaṁ gaccha āvatara padminīm ||

Yātudhānī berkata: “Penjelasan etimologi tentang namamu ini pun sukar bagiku walau sekadar untuk dilafazkan; suku katanya keluar dengan payah dan menyakitkan. Maka aku tidak dapat mengingatinya. Pergilah—turunlah ke padminī (kolam/kolah bertangga yang dipenuhi teratai) juga.”
