भीष्म उवाच इत्युक्त्वा हेमगर्भाणि हित्वा तानि फलानि वै | ऋषयो जम्मुरन्यत्र सर्व एव धृतव्रता:,भीष्मजी कहते हैं--युधिष्ठिर! यह कहकर उन सुवर्णयुक्त फलोंका परित्याग करके वे समस्त व्रतधारी महर्षि वहाँसे अन्यत्र चले गये
bhīṣma uvāca | ity uktvā hemagarbhāṇi hitvā tāni phalāni vai | ṛṣayo jagmur anyatra sarva eva dhṛtavratāḥ |
Bhīṣma berkata: “Wahai Yudhiṣṭhira! Setelah berkata demikian, semua maharṣi yang teguh pada ikrar mereka menolak buah-buahan yang berisi emas itu lalu berangkat dari tempat itu ke tempat lain.”
भीष्म उवाच
Steadfastness in vows and dharma requires detachment: even attractive, wealth-laden offerings should be renounced when they threaten to distract from spiritual discipline and ethical resolve.
After making a statement (implied by “having said thus”), the sages abandon the gold-filled fruits and leave the place, demonstrating their firmness in vows and refusal to be swayed by material temptation.
