अपत्यं युवयोदेव बलवद् भविता विभो | तन्ूनं त्रिषु लोकेषु न किज्चिच्छेषयिष्यति
apatyaṁ yuvayor deva balavad bhavitā vibho | tan nūnaṁ triṣu lokeṣu na kiñcic cheṣayiṣyati ||
Bhīṣma berkata: “Wahai Tuhan yang ilahi, wahai Yang Maha Perkasa—zuriat daripada kamu berdua akan menjadi amat kuat. Sesungguhnya, di tiga alam, tiada sesuatu pun akan dibiarkannya tanpa ditundukkan.”
भीष्म उवाच
The verse underscores the ethical and political weight of progeny: a child born of a divinely sanctioned union is portrayed as possessing extraordinary potency, implying that lineage and rightful generation can shape the fate of the world and must therefore be approached with responsibility and dharmic intent.
Bhīṣma is addressing a divine, powerful figure and predicting that the offspring arising from the union of “you two” will be immensely strong—so formidable that it will dominate the three worlds, leaving nothing unconquered or unmatched.
