पलालधूम्रवर्णा तु सवत्सां कांस्यदोहनाम् | प्रदाय वस्त्रसंवीतां पितृलोके महीयते,जो पुआलके धूएँके समान रंगवाली बछड़ेसहित गौको वस्त्रसे आच्छादित करके कांस्यके दुग्धपात्रसहित दान करता है, वह पितृलोकमें प्रतिष्ठित होता है
palāladhūmravarṇā tu savatsāṁ kāṁsyadohanām | pradāya vastrasaṁvītāṁ pitṛloke mahīyate ||
Vasiṣṭha bersabda: Sesiapa yang mendermakan seekor lembu yang warnanya seperti asap jerami, bersama anaknya, menutupinya dengan kain serta menyertakan bejana memerah susu daripada gangsa, maka dia dimuliakan dan memperoleh kemasyhuran di alam para leluhur (Pitṛloka).
वसिष्ठ उवाच
