Shloka 11
गावो ममैन: प्रणुदन्तु सौर्या- स्तथा सौम्या: स्वर्गयानाय सनन््तु । आत्मानं मे मातृवच्चा श्रयन्तु यथानुक्ता: सन्तु सर्वाशिषो मे,'सूर्य और चन्द्रमाके अंशसे प्रकट हुई वे गौएँ हमारे पापोंका नाश करें। हमें स्वर्ग आदि उत्तम लोकोंकी प्राप्तिमें सहायता दें। माताकी भाँति शरण प्रदान करें। जिन इच्छाओंका इन मन्त्रोंद्वारा उल्लेख नहीं हुआ है और जिनका हुआ है, वे सभी गोमाताकी कृपासे मेरे लिये पूर्ण हों
gāvo mamainaḥ praṇudantu sauryās tathā saumyāḥ svargayānāya sanantu | ātmānaṃ me mātṛvac cāśrayantu yathānuktāḥ santu sarvāśiṣo me ||
Bhishma berkata: “Semoga lembu-lembu—yang terzahir daripada bahagian Matahari dan Bulan—menghalau dosaku. Semoga mereka membantu perjalananku menuju syurga dan alam-alam mulia yang lain. Semoga mereka memberi perlindungan seperti seorang ibu. Dan dengan rahmat Ibu-Lembu, semoga segala berkat dan hajatku dipenuhi—baik yang disebut dalam mantra-mantra ini mahupun yang tidak disebut.”
