Gopradāna-Māhātmya: Inquiry into Goloka

रत्नदानं च सुमहत्‌ पुण्यमुक्तं जनाधिप । यस्तान्‌ विक्रीय यजते ब्राह्मणो हाभयंकरम्‌,जनेश्वर! रत्नदानका भी बहुत बड़ा पुण्य बताया गया है। जो ब्राह्मण दानमें मिले हुए रत्नको बेचकर उसके द्वारा यज्ञ करता है, उसके लिये वह प्रतिग्रह भयदायक नहीं होता

ratnadānaṃ ca sumahat puṇyam uktaṃ janādhipa | yas tān vikrīya yajate brāhmaṇo hābhayaṅkaram ||

Bhīṣma berkata: Wahai raja, sedekah permata dinyatakan sebagai pahala yang amat besar. Dan jika seorang brāhmaṇa menjual permata yang diterimanya sebagai derma lalu melaksanakan yajña dengan hasilnya, maka penerimaan derma itu tidak menjadi sebab ketakutan baginya.
