Dāna-Śreṣṭhatā: Abhaya, Anugraha, and the Ethics of Honoring the Worthy (दानश्रेष्ठता: अभय-अनुग्रह-विप्रपूजा)
ब्राह्माण्यं मे कुलस्यास्तु भगवन्नेष मे वर: । पुनश्चाख्यातुमिच्छामि भगवन् विस्तरेण वै,भगवन्! मेरा कुल ब्राह्मण हो जाय, यही मेरा अभीष्ट वर है। प्रभो! मैं इस विषयको पुनः विस्तारके साथ सुनना चाहता हूँ
brāhmaṇyaṁ me kulasyāstu bhagavann eṣa me varaḥ | punaś cākhyātum icchāmi bhagavan vistareṇa vai ||
Kuśika berkata: “Wahai yang mulia, biarlah keturunanku mencapai martabat dan laku hidup seorang Brahmin sejati—itulah anugerah yang kupinta. Dan, wahai Tuan, aku ingin mendengar hal ini sekali lagi, dengan penjelasan yang lebih terperinci.”
