अथ शून्येन मनसा प्रविश्य स्वगृहं नृपः । ददर्श शयने तस्मिन् शयानं भृगुनन्दनम्,राजाने सूने मनसे जब घरमें प्रवेश किया तब भृगुनन्दन महर्षि च्यवनको पुनः उसी शय्यापर सोते देखा
atha śūnyena manasā praviśya svagṛhaṃ nṛpaḥ | dadarśa śayane tasmin śayānaṃ bhṛgunandanam ||
Bhishma berkata: Kemudian raja, memasuki rumahnya sendiri dengan fikiran yang kosong dan gersang, melihat di atas katil itu juga keturunan Bhṛgu sedang terbaring tidur.
भीष्म उवाच
The verse contrasts a ruler’s inward emptiness and agitation with a sage’s calm repose, implying that ethical steadiness and self-mastery create inner stability, while moral or emotional turmoil makes even familiar spaces feel alien.
The king returns and enters his own house in a mentally desolate state, and he sees the Bhṛgu-descended sage (Cyavana) lying asleep on the same bed, setting up the next development in Bhīṣma’s account.
