“विपुल गुरुपत्नीके शरीरको स्तम्भित करके उसकी रक्षामें संलग्न हो वहीं निवास करने लगे। परंतु रुचिको अपने शरीरमें उनके आनेका पता न चला ।। यं काल॑ नागतो राजन्‌ गुरुस्तस्य महात्मन: । क्रतुं समाप्य स्वगृहं तं काल॑ सो5भ्यरक्षत,“राजन! जबतक महात्मा विपुलके गुरु यज्ञ पूरा करके अपने घर नहीं लौटे तबतक विपुल इसी प्रकार अपनी गुरुपत्नीकी रक्षा करते रहे”

yaṃ kālaṃ nāgato rājan gurus tasya mahātmanaḥ | kratuṃ samāpya svagṛhaṃ taṃ kālaṃ so ’bhyarakṣata ||

Bhishma berkata: “Wahai Raja, selama guru mulia Vipula belum kembali ke rumahnya—setelah menyempurnakan upacara korban sucinya—sepanjang tempoh itu Vipula tetap berjaga, tinggal di situ untuk melindungi isteri gurunya.”
