Devaśarmā–Vipula Dialogue on Ahorātra–Ṛtu as Moral Witnesses (अनुशासन पर्व, अध्याय ४३)
अन्न ते वर्तयिष्यामि इतिहासं पुरातनम् । यथा रक्षा कृता पूर्व विपुलेन महात्मना,इस विषयमें मैं तुम्हें एक प्राचीन इतिहास बताऊँगा कि पूर्वकालमें महात्मा विपुलने किस प्रकार एक स्त्री (गुरुपत्नी)-की रक्षा की थी
anna te vartayiṣyāmi itihāsaṃ purātanam | yathā rakṣā kṛtā pūrvaṃ vipulena mahātmanā ||
Bhīṣma berkata: “Wahai yang kukasihi, aku akan mengisahkan kepadamu sebuah legenda purba—bagaimana pada zaman dahulu, Vipula yang berhati luhur melindungi seorang wanita, iaitu isteri gurunya. Dengarlah bagaimana perlindungan itu dilaksanakan dengan benar, sebagai teladan dharma yang hidup.”
