Devaśarmā–Vipula Dialogue on Ahorātra–Ṛtu as Moral Witnesses (अनुशासन पर्व, अध्याय ४३)

यथा रक्षा कृता पूर्व विपुलेन गुरुस्त्रिया: । पुरुषसिंह! पूर्वकालमें मैंने यह सुना था कि प्राचीनकालमें महात्मा विपुलने अपनी गुरुपत्नीकी रक्षा की थी। कैसे की? यह मैं तुम्हें बता रहा हूँ

yathā rakṣā kṛtā pūrvaṁ vipulena gurustrīyāḥ | puruṣasiṁha! pūrvakāle me śrutaṁ yat prācīnakāle mahātmā vipulena svagurupatnyā rakṣā kṛtā | kathaṁ kṛtā? tad ahaṁ te vakṣyāmi |

Bhishma berkata: “Wahai singa di antara manusia! Aku telah mendengar sejak zaman purba bahawa dahulu kala, Vipula yang berhati agung telah melindungi isteri gurunya. Bagaimana dia menjaganya—itulah yang akan aku ceritakan kepadamu sekarang.”
