Brahmagītā: Praise of Brāhmaṇas and norms of honor

भक्तानामनुरक्तानामश्रितानां च रक्षिता । दयावान्‌ सर्वभूतेषु परत्र सुखमेधते

bhaktānām anuraktānām āśritānāṁ ca rakṣitā | dayāvān sarvabhūteṣu paratra sukham edhate | yudhiṣṭhira!

Pelindung para pemuja, mereka yang berkasih sayang, dan orang yang telah mencari perlindungan—yang berbelas kasihan kepada semua makhluk—akan meraih kebahagiaan di alam kemudian. Maka, wahai Yudhiṣṭhira, engkau juga hendaklah berbuat demikian: demi mereka yang datang memohon naungan, serahkanlah bahkan seluruh milikmu.
