ऊर्जावतीं महापुण्यां मधुमतीं त्रिवर्त्मगाम्‌ । त्रिलोकगोफ्तीं ये गड्डां संश्रितास्‍्ते दिवं गता:,गंगाजी ओजस्विनी, परम पुण्यमयी, मधुर जलराशिसे परिपूर्ण तथा भूतल, आकाश और पाताल--इन तीन मार्गोपर विचरनेवाली हैं। जो लोग तीनों लोकोंकी रक्षा करनेवाली गंगाजीकी शरणमें आये हैं, वे स्वर्गलोकको चले गये

Transliteration

Ūrjāvatīṁ mahāpuṇyāṁ madhumatīṁ trivartmagām | Trilokagoptīṁ ye Gaṅgāṁ saṁśritās te divaṁ gatāḥ ||

Translation

Siddha berkata: “Sungai Gaṅgā penuh daya rohani, amat besar pahalanya, dan manis airnya. Ia mengalir melalui tiga jalan—bumi, langit, dan alam bawah—lalu melindungi tiga dunia. Sesiapa yang berlindung pada Gaṅgā mencapai syurga.”
