एषा ते कथिता राजन्‌ सावित्री ब्रह्म शाश्वती | विवक्षुरसि यच्चान्यत्‌ तत्‌ ते वक्ष्यामि भारत,राजन! यह सनातन ब्रह्मरूपा गायत्रीका माहात्म्य मैंने तुमसे कहा है। भारत! अब और जो कुछ भी तुम पूछना चाहते हो, वह भी तुम्हें बताऊँगा

eṣā te kathitā rājan sāvitrī brahma śāśvatī | vivakṣur asi yac cānyat tat te vakṣyāmi bhārata ||

Bhishma berkata: “Wahai Raja, demikianlah telah aku jelaskan kepadamu Savitri yang kekal—Gayatri—yang hakikatnya ialah Brahman. Wahai Bharata, jika ada lagi apa-apa yang ingin engkau tanyakan, akan aku jelaskan kepadamu juga.”
