Bhīṣma’s Yogic Departure, Royal Cremation, and Gaṅgā’s Lament (भीष्मस्य योगयुक्त्या देहत्यागः, पितृमेधः, गङ्गाविलापः)

न्याय्यं श्रेयोडभिकामेन प्रतिपत्तुं जनार्दन: । एष एवाक्षयो विप्रै: स्तुतो राजन्‌ जनार्दन:,अतः जिसे कल्याणकी इच्छा हो, उस पुरुषको जनार्दनकी शरण लेनी चाहिये। राजन! इन अविनाशी श्रीकृष्णकी ही ब्राह्मणोंने स्तुति की है

nyāyyaṁ śreyodabhikāmena pratipattuṁ janārdanaḥ | eṣa evākṣayo vipraiḥ stuto rājan janārdanaḥ ||

Bhishma berkata: “Bagi sesiapa yang mendambakan kebaikan tertinggi, adalah benar dan wajar untuk berlindung pada Janardana. Wahai Raja, Janardana yang tidak binasa itulah yang dipuji oleh para Brahmana.”
