Bhīṣma’s Yogic Departure, Royal Cremation, and Gaṅgā’s Lament (भीष्मस्य योगयुक्त्या देहत्यागः, पितृमेधः, गङ्गाविलापः)

स काम: सर्वभूतानां सर्वभावगतो नृप । असुराणां सुराणां च चरत्यन्तर्गतः सदा,नरेश्वर! जो सम्पूर्ण प्राणियोंके मानसिक संकल्पमें व्याप्त रहनेवाला है और देवताओं तथा असुरोंके भी अन्तःकरणमें सदा विचरता रहता है, वह कामदेव ही भगवान्‌ श्रीकृष्णका वंशधर है

sa kāmaḥ sarvabhūtānāṁ sarvabhāvagato nṛpa | asurāṇāṁ surāṇāṁ ca caraty antargataḥ sadā ||

Bhīṣma berkata: “Wahai raja, Keinginan (Kāma) yang meresapi niat batin dan bentukan fikiran semua makhluk, dan yang sentiasa bergerak dalam hati para dewa mahupun asura—Kāma itulah yang dinyatakan sebagai keturunan Bhagavān Śrī Kṛṣṇa.”
