भीष्मस्योत्तरायणप्रतीक्षा तथा युधिष्ठिरागमनम् | Bhīṣma’s uttarāyaṇa moment and Yudhiṣṭhira’s arrival
एतत् तस्यानवद्यस्य विष्णोर्व परमं व्रतम् । आदिदेवस्य महत:ः सज्जनाचरितं सदा,उन प्रशंसनीय आदि देवता भगवान् महाविष्णुका यह उत्तम व्रत है, जिसका साधु पुरुष सदा आचरण करते आये हैं
etat tasyānavadyasya viṣṇor vai paramaṁ vratam | ādidevasya mahataḥ sajjanācaritaṁ sadā ||
Inilah sesungguhnya nazar tertinggi bagi Viṣṇu yang tanpa cela—Dewa Purba yang agung—suatu amalan mulia yang sentiasa diamalkan oleh orang-orang saleh sejak dahulu.
ईश्वर उवाच
The verse elevates a particular religious discipline (vrata) as the highest observance associated with the blameless Lord Viṣṇu, emphasizing that true excellence in practice is validated by long-standing adoption by the virtuous (sajjana).
Īśvara speaks in praise of a specific vow, identifying it as Viṣṇu’s supreme observance and noting its continual practice by righteous people, thereby authorizing it as an exemplary path of conduct and devotion.
