Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ

Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony

अर्द्धमानाश्च विबुधा ग्रहेण सुबलीयसा । शिवदत्तवरान्‌ जष्नुरसुरेन्द्रान सुरा भूशम्‌

arddhamānāś ca vibudhā graheṇa subalīyasā | śivadattavarān jaṣṇur asurendrān surā bhūśam ||

Vāsudeva berkata: “Apabila Graha yang teramat kuat itu mula mengganggu para dewa, para deva—walau terhimpit—tetap membalas dan menewaskan para raja asura yang telah memperoleh anugerah daripada Śiva. Maka berlanjutanlah perang yang panjang antara mereka, memperlihatkan bahawa kuasa yang dilindungi kurnia Ilahi, jika digunakan untuk menindas, pasti mengundang tentangan dan pertikaian yang berpanjangan.”
