Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ

Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony

रुद्रभवत्या तु कृष्णेन जगद्‌ व्याप्तं महात्मना । त॑ं प्रसाद्य तदा देवं बदर्या किल भारत

rudrabhavatyā tu kṛṣṇena jagad vyāptaṃ mahātmanā | taṃ prasādya tadā devaṃ badaryā kila bhārata ||

Bhishma berkata: Oleh Krishna yang berjiwa agung—yang dikurniai kuasa Rudra—seluruh jagat ini diliputi. Wahai keturunan Bharata, dikatakan bahawa pada zaman dahulu, setelah memujuk dan memperkenankan dewa itu (Mahadeva) di Badarī, Krishna memperoleh daripada Tuhan yang bermata penglihatan ilahi suatu keadaan “teramat dikasihi” yang mengatasi segala yang lain; maka bagindalah yang paling dikasihi di semua alam.
