अन्तर्गतमभिप्रायं नूनं नेच्छसि लज्जया । विवेक्तुं प्राप्तिशैथिल्यात्‌ तेनासि हरिण: कृश:,निश्चय ही तुम लज्जावश किसीपर अपना आन्तरिक अभिप्राय नहीं प्रकट करना चाहते, क्योंकि तुम्हें अपनी अभीष्ट वस्तुकी प्राप्तिके विषयमें संदेह है, इसीलिये चिन्तावश सूखते और पीले पड़ते जा रहे हो

antargatam abhiprāyaṃ nūnaṃ necchasi lajjayā | vivektuṃ prāpti-śaithilyāt tenāsi hariṇaḥ kṛśaḥ |

Sesungguhnya, kerana malu, engkau tidak mahu menyingkap niat yang tersembunyi di dalam hati. Oleh sebab engkau ragu akan tercapainya apa yang engkau dambakan, keteguhanmu menjadi longgar; maka engkau pun semakin susut—laksana seekor rusa—menjadi kurus kerana gelisah dan bimbang.
