Chapter 128: Śiva–Umā Dialogue—Tilottamā, the Ritual Valence of the Śmaśāna, and the Fourfold Duty-Code

निश्चय ही तुम धनवानोंके बीच परम उत्तम और समयोचित बात कहते होगे, किंतु वह उन्हें पसंद न आती होगी। इसीलिये तुम सफेद और दुर्बल हो रहे हो ।।

dṛḍhapūrvaśrutaṃ mūrkhaṃ kupitaṃ hṛdayapriyam | anunetuṃ na śaknoṣi tenāsi hariṇaḥ kṛśaḥ ||

Brahmana itu berkata: “Seseorang yang kaukasihi—dahulu teguh azamnya dan telah lama kaukenal—kerana kebodohan telah murka kepadamu. Engkau tidak mampu menenangkannya dan memenangi kembali hatinya dengan pujukan yang lembut; sebab itu engkau menjadi kurus dan pucat seperti rusa.”
