Sāma (Sāntva) and Dāna: The Brāhmaṇa’s Conciliatory Release from a Rākṣasa

- आदरणीय पुरुषके चरणोंको हाथसे पकड़कर जो नमस्कार किया जाता है

bhīṣma uvāca | evam uktaḥ pratyuvāca maitreyaḥ karmapūjakaḥ | atyantaśrīmati kule jātaḥ prājño bahuśrutaḥ ||

Sembah hormat dengan memegang kaki orang yang mulia dengan tangan lalu menunduk memberi salam disebut «abhivādana»; manakala merapatkan kedua-dua tangan dalam añjali, menyentuhkannya ke dahi lalu menundukkan kepala kepada insan yang patut dipuja disebut «praṇāma». Bhīṣma bersabda: Setelah demikian diperkatakan, Maitreya—yang memuliakan ibadah melalui perbuatan benar—pun menjawab. Ia lahir dalam keturunan yang sangat makmur, bijaksana serta luas ilmu dan pendengarannya.
