Śāṇḍilī–Sumanā-saṃvāda: Sat-strī-samudācāra and Pati-dharma
Conduct of the Virtuous Wife
Wealth is ethically meaningful when it is directed toward dharmic ends—generosity (dāna), sacred obligations (yajña), and legitimate enjoyment (sukha) rather than hoarding or misuse.
Vyāsa states an observation presented as self-evident: prosperous people, upon gaining resources, typically channel them into charity, ritual duty, and rightful enjoyment—supporting a broader instruction on conduct and the proper use of wealth.
