उपवासफलात्मकविधिः — Upavāsa as Yajña-Equivalent Merit

उपोष्य विधिवद्‌ देवास्त्रिदिवं प्रतिपेदिरे । ऋषयश्न परां सिद्धिमुपवासैरवाप्रुवन्‌,देवताओंने विधिवत्‌ उपवास करके ही स्वर्ग प्राप्त किया है तथा ऋषियोंको भी उपवाससे ही सिद्धि प्राप्त हुई है

Aṅgirā uvāca |

upoṣya vidhivad devās tridivaṁ pratipedire |

ṛṣayaś ca parāṁ siddhim upavāsair avāpuḥ ||

Aṅgirā berkata: “Dengan berpuasa menurut tata cara yang ditetapkan, para dewa mencapai Tridiva—alam syurga. Demikian juga para ṛṣi, melalui puasa, memperoleh siddhi yang tertinggi.”
