श्रावणं नियतो मासमेकभक्तेन य: क्षिपेत्‌ यत्र तत्राभिषेकेण युज्यते ज्ञातिवर्धन:,जो मन और इन्द्रियोंको संयममें रखकर एक समय भोजन करते हुए श्रावण मासको बिताता है, वह विभिन्न तीर्थोमें स्नान करनेके पुण्य-फलसे युक्त होता और अपने कुट॒म्बीजनोंकी वृद्धि करता है

śrāvaṇaṁ niyato māsam ekabhaktena yaḥ kṣipet | yatra tatrābhiṣekeṇa yujyate jñātivardhanaḥ ||

Sesiapa yang mengekang minda dan indera, lalu melalui bulan Śrāvaṇa dengan makan hanya sekali sehari, memperoleh pahala seumpama mandi di banyak tirtha suci, dan menjadi pemupuk kemakmuran serta pertambahan bagi kaum kerabatnya sendiri.
