Anuśāsana-parva 108

आचारो भूतिजनन आचार: कीर्तिवर्धन: । आचाराद्‌ वर्धते ह्यायुराचारो हन्त्यलक्षणम्‌

ācāro bhūtijanana ācāraḥ kīrtivardhanaḥ | ācārād vardhate hy āyur ācāro hanti alakṣaṇam ||

Bhishma berkata: “Tata laku yang baik ialah punca kesejahteraan, dan tata laku yang baik menambah kemasyhuran. Daripada tata laku yang baik, sesungguhnya umur bertambah; dan tata laku yang baik memusnahkan tanda-tanda serta kecenderungan yang malang.”
