Educational Q&A

The verse highlights how arrogance and misuse of authority lead one to violate dharma—especially by dishonoring sages—and sets up the moral consequence that such adharma inevitably brings downfall.

Nahusha, acting with overbearing pride, begins compelling the sages one after another to serve as his bearer/vehicle; the narration notes that the sequence reaches the point where Agastya’s turn comes.
