एतद्‌ गृहस्थधर्म त्वं चेष्टमानो जनाधिप । इहलोके यश: प्राप्य प्रेत्य स्वर्गमवाप्स्पसि

Transliteration

etad gṛhasthadharma tvaṁ ceṣṭamāno janādhipa | ihaloke yaśaḥ prāpya pretya svargam avāpsyasi ||

Translation

Bhīṣma berkata: “Wahai pemerintah manusia, jika engkau berusaha mengamalkan dharma seorang ketua rumah tangga ini, engkau akan memperoleh nama baik di dunia ini; dan setelah mati, engkau akan mencapai syurga.”
