FAQs

By giving precise cosmic measures, the verse underscores that the universe functions by a sacred order (ṛta) ultimately governed by Pati (Shiva); Linga worship aligns the devotee (paśu) with that divine order through disciplined reverence and inner steadiness.

Though Shiva is not named, the verse implies Shiva-tattva as the transcendent regulator: the measurable cosmos (including the Sun) is a manifested system within Pāśa-bound reality, while Pati remains the sovereign ground that enables such proportion, law, and intelligibility.

No direct puja-vidhi is stated; the takeaway is contemplative discipline (dhyāna) on cosmic order—useful in Pāśupata-oriented practice where the yogin reflects on the governed universe to loosen pāśa (bondage) and fix awareness on Pati.
