Jyotish-chakra: Surya’s Motion and Monthly Retinues
Suta Goswami
It establishes the narration as an authoritative transmission (yathāśrutam) of Deva-deva Śiva’s account, grounding later teachings on liṅga and pūjā in a faithfully preserved tradition.
By calling Śiva “Deva-deva” and “dhīmat,” it points to Śiva as Pati—the supreme Lord and conscious principle who illumines and governs the devas, distinct from bound pashus under pāśa.
No specific rite is prescribed in this line; it functions as an upasaṃhāra (concluding assurance) that the preceding Shaiva doctrine—often including liṅga-pūjā and Pāśupata-oriented liberation themes—has been conveyed accurately.
