Jyotish-chakra: Surya’s Motion and Monthly Retinues
Suta Goswami (narrating the Linga Purana to the sages of Naimisharanya)
It links sacred time (māsa-kāla) with divine presence, implying that Shiva-puja and linga-archana gain specific potency when aligned with ritually significant solar-month cycles governed through Divākara.
By presenting divine powers as moving and abiding within the Sun and months, the verse points to Shiva as Pati—the inner ruler of kāla (time) and niyati (cosmic order)—while pashus (souls) experience time as a binding rhythm (pāśa) unless oriented to liberation through worship.
A time-aligned discipline: performing Shiva-archana, vrata, japa, and Pāśupata-oriented observances in harmony with the solar months, treating kāla as a support for sādhana rather than a bondage.
