Adhyaya 52: सोमाधारः, पुण्योदानदी, मेरुप्रदक्षिणा, जम्बूद्वीपनववर्षवर्णनम्
धर्मार्थकामसंयुक्तो वर्णानां तु स्वकर्मसु संकल्पश्चाभिमानश् च आश्रमाणां यथाविधि
dharmārthakāmasaṃyukto varṇānāṃ tu svakarmasu saṃkalpaścābhimānaś ca āśramāṇāṃ yathāvidhi
Hendaklah seseorang melaksanakan tugas-tugas varṇa menurut karmanya, diselaraskan dengan dharma, artha dan kāma; dan menurut aturan āśrama yang wajar, memelihara saṅkalpa (niat yang benar) serta abhimāna (harga diri yang berdisiplin)—agar paśu (jiwa individu) menjadi teguh pada jalan yang menuju Pati, Tuhan Śiva.
