FAQs

Indirectly: it teaches that embodied beings reap results according to adherence to sva-dharma; the deeper Kurma Purana teaching is that such karmic stations are within saṃsāra, while realization of the Self (ātma-jñāna) transcends all allotted lokas.

No specific technique is named; the practice emphasized is karma-yoga in the form of disciplined performance of one’s ordained duty (sva-dharma) without deviation, which the Kurma Purana later aligns with purification needed for higher yoga and jñāna.

The verse itself is dharma-focused, but within the Kurma Purana’s Shaiva–Vaishnava synthesis it reflects a shared ethical foundation: righteous duty and self-discipline are presented as universally valid supports for devotion and liberation, whether oriented to Hari (Kurma/Vishnu) or Hara (Shiva).
