Babhruvāhana Meets a Preta: Vṛṣotsarga, Heirless Death, and the Signs of Preta-Affliction
प्रेतो ऽप्ययं सपदिलब्धसुवर्णदेहः कर्मान्त आगत इति प्रणनाम भूपम् / देव त्वदीयमहिमायमिति स्तुवन् स यातो दिवं गरुड भूपतिना कृतज्ञः
preto 'pyayaṃ sapadilabdhasuvarṇadehaḥ karmānta āgata iti praṇanāma bhūpam / deva tvadīyamahimāyamiti stuvan sa yāto divaṃ garuḍa bhūpatinā kṛtajñaḥ
Walaupun masih seorang preta, dia serta-merta memperoleh tubuh emas; mengetahui bahawa keadaan karmanya telah sampai ke penghujung, dia bersujud kepada raja. Sambil memuji, “Wahai Tuanku, inilah kemuliaanmu,” dia yang bersyukur—dengan pertolongan raja—lalu pergi ke syurga, wahai Garuḍa.
