Jika seorang wanita menaiki unggun pembakaran yang sama (bersama suaminya), atau jika dia meninggal dalam satu hari (selepasnya), maka baginya tiada upacara sapīṇḍīkaraṇa. Apabila suaminya telah meninggal, dia dikira termasuk dalam kalangan wanita milik suaminya (dalam perhitungan ritual selepas kematian).
