Karma, Varṇa-Dharma, and Dāna as the Soul’s True Companion on the Path to Yama

देहं समासाद्य तथैव पिण्डजं वर्णांस्तथैवान्त्यजम्लेच्छसंज्ञितान् / मरुन्मयं देहमिमे विशन्ति नैवेहमानाः पथि धर्मसंकुले

dehaṃ samāsādya tathaiva piṇḍajaṃ varṇāṃstathaivāntyajamlecchasaṃjñitān / marunmayaṃ dehamime viśanti naivehamānāḥ pathi dharmasaṃkule

Setelah memperoleh suatu tubuh—terbentuk daripada piṇḍa (persembahan upacara kematian) dan sepadan dengan varṇa seseorang, atau bahkan ditandai sebagai antyaja atau disebut mleccha—makhluk-makhluk ini memasuki tubuh yang terbina daripada angin, tubuh halus yang vāyu-maya. Di sepanjang jalan yang sesak dan terbelit oleh dharma itu, mereka tidak lagi tinggal dalam keadaan duniawi yang dahulu.
