Bab Empat Puluh Empat, bernama “Huraian tentang Penyucian”.

FAQs

This verse introduces a chapter that classifies deaths (natural, violent, self-caused, poison, snakebite, assault), because different circumstances affect the required rites of purity and funeral observances.

By listing distinct modes of dying, it signals that the post-death condition and the handling of the departed (preta-related procedures) are discussed with attention to how death occurred, which influences subsequent ritual steps.

It encourages responsible conduct and care around life-and-death situations (avoiding self-harm and violence) and reminds families to follow appropriate last-rites and purification practices suited to the circumstances of death.
